Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our premises. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure efficient floor care and sanitation.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and disposal in accordance with safety protocols.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment using safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
• Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other restorative techniques to uphold a professional appearance.
• Restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed while adhering to inventory management procedures.
• Support facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting when required to ensure a well-maintained environment.

Skills

• Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of commercial or residential cleaning standards.
• Skilled in handling cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
• Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation best practices to promote a safe working environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper ergonomic techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or painting is a plus.
• Strong adherence to safety protocols and safety protocol compliance in all custodial activities.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
