What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Buyer position at Executive Recruiting Group?
The Senior Buyer will assure compliance with company policies, applicable government regulations and laws and the higher of ethical standards while establishing sources for quality conforming materials and services with competitive pricing and timely deliveries. The Senior Buyer person will continually seek new and alternative ideas, products, and materials whose adoption might improve company efficiency and profitability. This person will support the development of new company products by involving suppliers in the initial design.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and process inventory and non-inventory (sometimes referred to as "Non-Production") requisitions to determine the appropriate source of supply
- Perform purchase order administration to assure timely deliveries of products and services
- Conduct the appropriate level of price/cost analysis to obtain the most favorable economic purchase. Cost reductions will be critical. This position will take the lead on non-inventory activities
- Maintain database for assigned suppliers to assure data base integrity while ensuring suppliers
Requirements
Requirements:
- 2-year Associate's Degree with skills sufficient to meet required competencies at a minimum
- Minimum of five years progressively responsible purchasing related experiences in a manufacturing environment
- Immediate knowledge level of purchasing principles, computer techniques and manufacturing processes required
Preferred Competencies:
- 4-year College degree
- Experience with MfgPro/QAD/MQ1
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience
