Primary Responsibilities
- Revenue Tracking & Billing Management
- Direct and coordinate the invoicing process across multiple departments
- Ensure all completed services are accurately recorded, billed, and reconciled
- Design and implement processes to eliminate missed or delayed billing
- Review invoices to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client requirements
- Work closely with operations to align service workflows with billing procedures
- Accounts Receivable Oversight
- Manage all aspects of accounts receivable, including collections and aging analysis
- Develop and enforce collection policies to enhance cash flow
- Track outstanding receivables and take proactive steps to resolve overdue accounts
- Provide consistent reporting on receivables, trends, and potential risks
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver regular financial updates to ownership and the operations manager, including:
- Cash flow (inflows and outflows)
- Revenue performance and trends
- Profitability by department, client, or service category
- Identify opportunities to increase profitability and minimize revenue loss
- Expense Management & Cost Control
- Review and analyze company expenses to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and address overspending
- Ensure spending aligns with both operational needs and financial objectives
- Establish and maintain appropriate approval processes and controls
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and lead a team of seven accounting professionals, including direct management of an accounting supervisor
- Promote accountability for accuracy, productivity, and deadlines
- Enhance team structure, workflows, and performance expectations
- Provide training and development to support both operational and financial goals
- Process Optimization & Systems Improvement
- Assess current financial and operational processes and recommend improvements
- Implement systems that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
- Strengthen coordination between accounting and operations teams
- Drive automation and standardization of processes where beneficial
- Oversight of Accounting Operations
- Provide high-level oversight of established accounting functions without handling daily transactional work
- Ensure the reliability and integrity of financial data and reporting
- Collaborate with team members responsible for bookkeeping and reconciliations
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
- Strong background in billing, accounts receivable, and revenue management
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and improving operational workflows
- Experience in high-volume, multi-department service environments preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Professional financial certification (e.g., CPA or similar)
- Experience in legal, professional services, or other high-volume billing industries
- Background in building financial dashboards and reporting tools
- Strong organizational and operational mindset
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and revenue gaps
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to implement change
- Strong communication skills across both financial and non-financial teams
