What You’ll Be Doing
- Review and verify patient medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness according to hospital and pharmacy policies.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care.
- Educate patients and staff on medication use, safety, and side effects.
- Participate in infection control, quality improvement, and risk management programs.
- Provide oversight and direction to Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Transporters.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, infection control standards, and departmental procedures.
- Support hospital initiatives through participation in projects, in-services, and continuing education.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and commitment to patient care and departmental excellence.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (minimum of BS in Pharmacy).
- Active New York pharmacist license (required).
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and pharmaceutical calculation proficiency.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
