What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Pharmacist position at St. Barnabas?
The Registered Pharmacist will review physician’s orders (prescriptions) and existing therapy to ensure the rationality, provide drug information services to physicians, nurses and allied health professional with regards to dosing, drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, pharmacokinetics, rational drug therapy.
Candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or PharmD from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Current New York State License to practice as a registered pharmacist
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience
- Proficiency of Microsoft
- Minimum of 45 wpm
Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
Licensing/Certifications:
NYS Pharmacist License (preferred) or NY State Pharmacist Licensure within 90 days of starting the residency training.
Experience:
- Knowledge of the principles of pharmacy practice
- Knowledge of Pharmacy laws, both federal and state
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint
