Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Distribution: Lead the transition to a direct distribution model to increase customer margins and eliminate "windshield time" for field technicians.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the complete low voltage portfolio, including fire alarm systems, access control, and IP cameras.
- Account Strategy: Partner with "strategic accounts" (PE-backed roll-ups) to provide seamless parts support without the need for them to carry local inventory.
- Team Leadership: Manage an initial team of four, with immediate plans to hire and scale the department further.
- Full P&L Ownership: Drive revenue toward aggressive growth targets with full accountability for GM dollars to quota.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with key manufacturers and distribution partners (e.g., ADI, Westco, Alarm Max, SES).
Required Experience
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in low voltage, fire alarm, or fire and life safety systems.
- Strong industry knowledge of NFPA codes, integrated systems, and life safety compliance.
- Market Authority: Comprehensive knowledge of fire alarms, access control, and security cameras as a holistic system.
- Distribution Expertise: Highly preferred background in distribution (ADI, Westco, Alarm Max, etc.) rather than purely at an integrator/ESD level.
- Business Acumen: Ability to speak the language of executive-level stakeholders at large strategic accounts.
- Special Hazards: Expertise in VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) and special hazards.
- Data Center Experience: Specific experience with the fire protection requirements of Data Center environments.
- Manufacturer Knowledge: Familiarity with at least four major fire alarm system manufacturers.
- Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell, Bosch, etc.).
- Experience with acquisitions, integration, or scaling service operations.
- Location: Based in Charlotte, NC.
- In-Office Policy: Standard schedule is Tuesday–Thursday in-office, with potential flexibility for the ideal candidate.
