About the Role: Gunnison Copper is hiring an Assistant Stacking Operator to support stacking operations at our heap leach facility. Reporting to the Leaching Supervisor, this role assists with the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of stacking conveyors and mobile equipment in a rugged, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with operation of stacking conveyors and mobile equipment.
- Support heap leach pad construction and ore placement tasks.
- Perform equipment inspections and assist with minor maintenance (belts, motors, hydraulics).
- Identify and report any mechanical or safety issues.
- Follow SOPs and site safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area through daily housekeeping.
- Support shutdowns, startups, and emergency stops under direction.
- Work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of industrial or mining experience preferred (not required).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Basic math, reading, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using PPE and working around heavy machinery.
- Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions.
Candidates must have the ability to work unrestricted in the U.S. as there is no visa sponsorship. Successful completion of a background check is required after the offer of employment.
