Key Responsibilities
- Assess & Treat: Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.
- Communication Aids: Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
- Collaborative Care: Partner with the interdisciplinary team to tailor therapy plans that align with each resident’s unique needs.
- Monitor Progress: Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.
- Mentor & Lead: Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy tools and identify equipment needs or repairs.
- Family Support: Offer compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their loved ones.
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
- Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Florida.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA (or in the process).
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred, especially in a skilled nursing or rehab setting.
