Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities.
- Facilitate cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs that promote resident engagement.
- Assist with coordinating monthly events, holiday celebrations, and special activities.
- Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to individual interests, abilities, and needs.
- Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
- Maintain activity supplies and ensure activity areas remain clean and organized.
- Observe residents during activities and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure resident safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' quality of life.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare, recreation, or activities setting is preferred.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
