In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining regulatory compliance and smooth clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing leadership with oversight of daily clinical operations
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for each shift
- Conduct routine rounds to monitor resident care and staff performance
- Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections
- Support resident care planning, assessments, and discharge coordination
- Monitor medication administration and treatment procedures
- Address staff concerns, complaints, and workplace issues professionally
- Welcome and orient newly admitted residents and families
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members during rounds
- Provide direct nursing care when needed
- Assist with staff evaluations and performance improvement initiatives
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Minimum 5 years of nursing home experience required
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
