This key leadership role ensures the highest standards of infection control, staff education, and regulatory compliance within our skilled nursing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee new hire orientation, ongoing staff training, and competency validation
- Coordinate annual skills training and required in-service education programs
- Manage and monitor the Infection Prevention & Control Program
- Conduct infection control rounds and lead outbreak investigations
- Track, analyze, and report infection trends to leadership and committees
- Provide ongoing infection prevention education to staff
- Participate in QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement) initiatives
- Monitor employee compliance with immunizations, TB testing, and respiratory protection
- Prepare and present infection control and quality reports
- Support regulatory survey readiness and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Active Florida RN License (required)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility or nursing home
- Certification or specialized training in Infection Prevention & Control (preferred)
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) (preferred)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
