Thermal Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert supporting advanced aerospace thermal protection systems. This hands-on role spans the full product lifecycle from concept development and modeling to hardware fabrication, testing, and production support.
You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance thermal solutions for demanding operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and correlate detailed thermal models for complex systems
- Design and analyze active/passive thermal protection hardware (including insulation systems and high-temperature materials)
- Lead thermal verification testing and support qualification campaigns
- Conduct thermo-mechanical trade studies and risk reduction efforts
- Support hardware fabrication, production, and cross-functional teams
- Prepare technical documentation and customer-facing presentations
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of thermal engineering experience in aerospace or advanced engineering environments
- Strong background in heat transfer (radiation, conduction, convection)
- Experience with industry-standard thermal analysis tools
- Knowledge of space or mission thermal environments
- Proficiency in CAD and scripting tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
Preferred
- Technical leadership or SME experience
- Thermal/mechanical test planning and execution
- Experience in production environments
- Advanced degree with thermal focus
