An advanced aerospace technology company developing high-reliability communication and embedded systems for defense and space applications is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong software focus.
This role supports product lines with DoD applications and plays a key part in ensuring dependable, compliant, and mission-ready software across complex hardware-integrated platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with customer, internal, and industry quality requirements (AS9100 and related standards)
- Drive root cause corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as independent reviewer for software test plan creation and execution
- Execute and manage formal system and integration testing across embedded and RF-based platforms
- Document and communicate software defects clearly to support rapid resolution
- Build and manage test environments to validate features, milestones, and customer-specific configurations
- Conduct process and product audits across the software lifecycle
- Collaborate in Agile environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Docker, and GitLab
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- 6 years in Quality Assurance or software/system testing roles
- Experience conducting process and product audits
- Strong background in test execution, defect tracking, and dashboard/reporting tools
- Experience generating documentation aligned with AS9100 and industry standards
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and modern development toolchains
- Ability to manage priorities in fast-paced, technical environments
Preferred
- Experience supporting DoD programs or high-reliability systems
- Knowledge of AS9100 / AS9115 standards
- Background in embedded software, Linux environments, or IP-based systems
- Experience with C, C , or Python
- Familiarity with statistical analysis, Six Sigma, or structured root cause methodologies
- Experience mentoring QA team members
Salary : $102,000 - $136,000
