Quality Inspector
An innovative aerospace and defense technology company is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to support mission-critical Department of Defense programs. This organization develops advanced engineering solutions across areas such as ISR systems, propulsion technologies, and aerospace platforms.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that manufactured components and supplier deliverables meet strict aerospace quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to maintain product integrity and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
Role Overview
The Senior Quality Inspector will perform detailed inspections of components and assemblies across receiving, production, and supplier environments. The role combines hands-on inspection using precision measurement tools with advanced computer-aided inspection technologies. The position also supports supplier quality activities, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives across defense manufacturing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured and supplier components
- Operate and program inspection equipment including CMM, laser scanning systems, Keyence, and other CAI tools
- Utilize manual inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual inspection methods
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and review supplier FAIR documentation
- Document and track non-conformance reports and support corrective action investigations
- Support supplier inspections and source surveillance activities
- Provide inspection feedback and technical guidance to engineering and manufacturing teams
- Maintain configuration control of inspection data, job records, and documentation
- Support hardware acceptance reviews and internal/external quality audits
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of quality inspection experience, including at least 5 years working with CMM or computer-aided inspection equipment
- Experience supporting Department of Defense manufacturing or engineering programs
- Familiarity with non-conformance tracking systems such as TIP QA or similar tools
- Strong understanding of precision measurement and inspection methods for aerospace components
- Ability to collaborate with program teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Person status required due to program requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency programs or MAP/PMAP requirements
- Knowledge of AS9100 and DCMA quality standards
- Experience applying Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or another STEM discipline
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
