Principal Systems Engineer – Lunar Mobility & Space Robotics

The Role
As Principal Systems Engineer, you will lead Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) activities across advanced lunar mobility programs, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners to ensure successful system development and mission execution.
You will help shape system architectures, manage technical requirements, oversee integration and verification activities, and provide technical leadership across highly complex engineering programs designed for operation in extreme environments.

The Role

You will help shape system architectures, manage technical requirements, oversee integration and verification activities, and provide technical leadership across highly complex engineering programs designed for operation in extreme environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across advanced lunar mobility and robotic systems programs
- Drive requirements definition, traceability, verification, and validation activities
- Support the design, integration, testing, and deployment of spacecraft and autonomous systems
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful program execution
- Develop and manage technical documentation including ICDs, IDDs, trade studies, CONOPS, and risk assessments
- Participate in technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and customer presentations
- Support project planning, technical decision-making, and overall systems architecture development
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 10 years of experience within systems engineering, product development, or complex hardware programs
- Strong background in requirements management and systems architecture
- Experience working with spacecraft, robotics, autonomous systems, or other highly complex engineering products
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software system integration
- Experience working with technical documentation, interface control, and verification processes
- Lunar mobility, robotics, automotive, or autonomous vehicle experience
- Previous leadership or SEIT management experience
- PMP certification
- Experience supporting government contracts or regulated aerospace programs
