The Role
As a Firmware Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing the firmware that enables secure data access and transmission for both government and commercial customers. This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of cybersecurity, predictive maintenance, and compliance for OT systems, with real-world impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architecting and defining FPGA-based data acquisition and transmission systems.
- Designing and implementing HDL modules, including testbenches for verification.
- Developing robust hardware-software interface layers.
- Troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and software environments.
- Documenting architectures, data flows, and interface specifications.
- Working with serial protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, UART, and CAN.
- Contributing to design reviews with technical insight and innovative solutions.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of FPGA design and testing experience, ideally with VHDL.
- Strong scripting experience (TCL, Bash, Python, etc.).
- HDL simulation experience (ModelSim, GHDL, or similar).
- Embedded software development skills (C, C , or similar).
- Confident debugging across firmware, software, and hardware.
- Proficiency in Linux command line environments.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Bonus: formal FPGA design verification or Linux kernel driver development.

- Base salary: $125,000 – $200,000
