What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and maintaining backend systems that integrate multiple external data providers
- Building and exposing robust, scalable APIs
- Ensuring high availability, reliability, and fault tolerance across systems
- Collaborating with product, design, and operations to define technical requirements
- Contributing to system architecture and scaling strategies
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Driving continuous improvements in performance, efficiency, and system quality
- Strong computer science fundamentals with a STEM background
- Proven backend development experience in production environments
- Solid experience with relational databases
- Ability to take ownership of problems end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Experience handling large datasets, including partitioning and sharding techniques
- Strong experience designing and integrating REST APIs
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Python and PostgreSQL
- Working with geospatial or temporal datasets
- Image processing or data-heavy systems
- Google Cloud Platform
- CI/CD pipelines and fully automated testing environments
- SaaS platforms supporting always-on, 24/7 services
- Experience working in distributed or global teams
- Background in early-stage or high-growth environments
- Interest in space, geospatial data, or Earth observation
- Competitive salary in the range of $170,000 to $200,000
