IT Support Specialist (Short-Term Contract)
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule:
- First Month: 4 days in-office (28 hours/week)
- After First Month: 3 days/week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (21 hours/week)
Duration: 2–3 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Format: One-and-done (20–30 min Microsoft Teams interview)
About the Role:
We are seeking a contract IT Support Specialist to join our internal IT team and provide day-to-day technical support to approximately 70 hybrid employees. This role is essential in ensuring seamless IT operations, particularly for a team of 40 attorneys, and will focus primarily on handling Level 1 and Level 2 support tickets.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong troubleshooting and communication skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely end-user support for ~70 hybrid staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 & Level 2 issues, including:
- Lenovo laptop hardware/software issues
- VPN connectivity problems
- Office 365 applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office, OneDrive)
- Collaborate with the existing 2-person IT support team for knowledge sharing and workflow continuity
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of staff, including attorneys with varying technical skill levels
Qualifications:
- Previous IT support experience (Level 1 and/or Level 2)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows OS & Lenovo hardware
- Office 365 suite (Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Office)
- VPN troubleshooting
- Cisco tools and systems (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a professional environment
