The IT & Systems Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our network, phone system, EMR platform, hardware, camera systems, and more. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring seamless patient care and internal operations across all our medical office locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Administration & Support
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot all network infrastructure across locations
- Optimize network configurations for speed, reliability, and redundancy
- Investigate network irregularities and performance issues
- Perform routine backups of network configuration and system data
- Analyze traffic to ensure network efficiency for critical systems and patient care
- Use Unifi Cloud Console to manage remote sites and ensure uptime
- Modify call queues and user routing based on suite or role
- Install and configure phones for new providers and front desk staff
- Monitor phone connectivity and ensure reliable communication
- Call 3CX support for escalated issues
- Blacklist threatening IPs and ensure VoIP systems are up to date eClinicalWorks (ECW) & EMR Support
- Assist with password resets and user login issues
- Link pharmacies and troubleshoot ECW scanning/printing inconsistencies
- Support duplicate patient resolution and ECWrelated user training
- Collaborate with ECW for general fixes and software updates
- Download and update drivers for all devices
- Monitor ink levels and manage supply replacements
- Troubleshoot printing/scanning issues, including scantoemail functionality
- Contact manufacturer support for mechanical repairs
- Ensure consistent printer uptime across all offices
- Install, maintain, and configure camera systems, including license plate readers and face scanners
- Set up camera IDs, timestamps, and optimize color settings to improve visibility
- Update firmware and system software for security
- Conduct camera system upgrades as requested by administration
- Maintain remote access functionality and update user groups
- Name and organize computers for easy identification
- Add/remove devices to stay within licensing limits
- Ensure computers are accessible for offsite tech support
- Hardwire computers to ensure stable internet for providers and receptionists
- Assist in officewide network and surveillance upgrades
- Support installation of panic buttons at reception desks
- Create and maintain detailed network floor plans and port maps
- Set up user permissions and secondary admin accounts on workstations
- 3 years of IT experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Strong networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, firewall management)
- Experience with VoIP phone systems (3CX preferred)
- Familiarity with ECW or other EMR systems
- Handson experience with surveillance systems and remote access tools
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and responding to urgent IT issues
- A proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
