Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, Node.js or Python, and PostgreSQL - from technical spec through production release
- Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs, focusing on correctness, latency, and clean versioning as the product scales
- Instrument what you ship: logging, metrics, and tracing with Datadog or similar, so regressions are caught before users report them
- Write integration and unit tests as a default practice, not an afterthought, and keep CI pipelines green
- Participate in architecture reviews and RFC-driven decision making; challenge designs constructively and document tradeoffs
- Own on-call rotation participation with a follow-the-sun support model; run blameless postmortems when things break
- Collaborate directly with product managers and designers to shape scope, flag risks early, and cut what does not need to exist
- 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful production work on both frontend and backend
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript, plus proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, or Go)
- Hands-on experience with React and modern state management patterns; understanding of rendering performance fundamentals
- Solid relational database skills: schema design, query optimization, and indexing in PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS or GCP (Docker, Terraform, or comparable IaC is a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; open-source contributions or shipped side projects are a plus
- Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), GraphQL federation, or building design systems
