The Operations Manager keeps technical and business teams aligned as products move from planning through launch and ongoing delivery. This role owns the systems, workflows, and operating rhythms that support software development, cloud infrastructure, customer operations, and internal tooling.
The role matters because reliable execution depends on clear ownership, accurate data, and disciplined follow-through. You will identify operational friction, improve processes, and lead cross-functional initiatives that make engineering and business teams faster, more predictable, and easier to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own operating processes across engineering, IT, customer operations, and business teams, including documentation, intake workflows, approvals, and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate cross-functional projects in tools such as Jira, Asana, Linear, or Smartsheet; track milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables through completion
- Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports using spreadsheets, SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools to monitor capacity, throughput, service levels, and project health
- Manage operational tooling, access workflows, vendor relationships, and system integrations across platforms such as Slack, Salesforce, Jira, Google Workspace, and cloud services
- Identify bottlenecks through process analysis, stakeholder interviews, and data reviews; implement improvements and measure impact against defined KPIs
- Run weekly and monthly operating cadences, prepare leadership updates, and escalate decisions or risks that could affect delivery, compliance, or customer experience
- Lead planning and rollout of new processes, tools, and controls, including requirements gathering, testing, documentation, training, and post-launch review
- 3-8 years of experience in operations, technical program management, project management, business operations, or a related role in a technology environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, IT, product, finance, customer success, or other distributed teams
- Strong process-design and analytical skills, with hands-on experience using spreadsheets, project-management platforms, and reporting or BI tools
- Working knowledge of SaaS operations, software development workflows, cloud platforms, APIs, system integrations, and data governance concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear plans, owners, timelines, and decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, operations, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with SQL, workflow automation, ITIL, SOC 2 controls, vendor management, or operating in a high-growth technology company
