About The Role
The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations, close management, and financial reporting for a technology business operating under US GAAP. The role oversees account reconciliations, revenue and expense accounting, internal controls, and schedules supporting SEC reporting and audit requirements.
You will lead a disciplined monthly and quarterly close, improve accounting processes in the ERP, and partner with FP&A, legal, tax, and compliance teams to produce accurate financial information. The role is central to maintaining SOX-ready controls and scaling the finance function as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations, close management, and financial reporting for a technology business operating under US GAAP. The role oversees account reconciliations, revenue and expense accounting, internal controls, and schedules supporting SEC reporting and audit requirements.
You will lead a disciplined monthly and quarterly close, improve accounting processes in the ERP, and partner with FP&A, legal, tax, and compliance teams to produce accurate financial information. The role is central to maintaining SOX-ready controls and scaling the finance function as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and flux analysis
- Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements, footnotes, management reporting, and schedules supporting SEC filings
- Own accounting processes for areas such as revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, stock-based compensation, and intercompany activity
- Maintain and test SOX controls, document control evidence, and coordinate remediation of audit findings
- Manage audit support requests and deliver accurate workpapers to external auditors, internal audit, and tax advisors
- Improve ERP workflows, close checklists, reconciliation tools, and reporting through systems such as NetSuite, Workday, or similar platforms
- Coach accounting staff and partner with FP&A, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or leading close activities
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX internal controls
- Experience with technical accounting, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and audit coordination
- Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday, Oracle, or SAP, plus advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple stakeholders
- Bonus: Public-company or pre-IPO experience, CPA license, SEC reporting software, BlackLine, FloQast, or experience supporting technology and SaaS accounting
