Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations for a technology business, including the monthly close, account reconciliations, revenue and expense accounting, and US GAAP reporting. The role manages reliable books and records across an ERP environment and maintains the controls required for audit readiness and SOX compliance.
You will partner with finance, legal, operations, and external auditors to resolve complex accounting issues, strengthen processes, and deliver accurate reporting on schedule. This role is central to maintaining SEC-ready reporting discipline as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and close-calendar management
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP
- Manage accounting for revenue, stock-based compensation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany transactions
- Maintain and test SOX controls, document control evidence, and remediate deficiencies in partnership with internal audit and compliance teams
- Lead audit support for external auditors, including PBC schedules, technical accounting memos, and responses to audit requests
- Improve accounting workflows, reporting automation, and data quality across ERP, billing, expense, and financial planning systems
- Coach accounting staff and coordinate cross-functional deadlines with finance, legal, payroll, procurement, and business operations
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or reviewing month-end close activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or active CPA pursuit preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and technical accounting documentation
- Experience with SOX controls, audit coordination, and SEC reporting requirements in a public-company or public-company-ready environment
- Hands-on proficiency with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, FloQast, or comparable platforms
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling, data validation, and reconciliation analysis
- Bonus: CPA license, public accounting experience, technology or SaaS industry experience, and familiarity with ASC 606, ASC 842, stock-based compensation, or accounting automation tools
