The Social Media Manager owns the organic social strategy for a technology brand, translating product positioning, customer insights, and industry trends into content that builds awareness, engagement, and qualified demand.
The role manages channel strategy across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and YouTube, partnering with product marketing, design, content, and communications to turn technical subject matter into clear, useful, and distinctive stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage the editorial calendar across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels
- Create, edit, and publish posts, short-form video, executive content, customer stories, and campaign assets using tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Translate technical products, APIs, data platforms, or infrastructure concepts into accessible social content for technical and business audiences
- Measure channel performance using native platform analytics, GA4, and dashboarding tools; report on reach, engagement, traffic, conversions, and pipeline influence
- Run content tests across formats, hooks, creative, posting times, and calls to action, then apply insights to improve performance
- Partner with product marketing, PR, demand generation, design, and subject-matter experts to launch coordinated campaigns and manage approvals
- Monitor conversations, competitor activity, and relevant industry trends; maintain response guidelines and escalate reputational or customer issues appropriately
- 3-6 years of experience managing social media for a technology, SaaS, developer-tools, cybersecurity, cloud, or similarly technical company
- Demonstrated ability to grow engaged audiences and connect organic social activity to website traffic, leads, brand awareness, or pipeline outcomes
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics without losing accuracy
- Hands-on experience with social publishing, listening, and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Brandwatch, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, or equivalent tools
- Experience producing short-form video, graphics, and social-first creative; familiarity with Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools
- Highly organized project manager who can manage multiple content streams, stakeholders, deadlines, and approval workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field; Bonus: experience with developer audiences, executive social programs, paid social, influencer or community marketing, and video editing
