Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize the end-to-end monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Establish, document, and enforce internal control policies and procedures in alignment with SOX standards to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Prepare audit schedules, footnote disclosures, and technical accounting memos under US GAAP, coordinating directly with external auditors.
- Manage daily general ledger activities, including cash management, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and payroll accounting functions.
- Analyze monthly variances in balance sheet and income statement accounts, translating complex financial data into actionable variance reports for senior leadership.
- Partner with FP&A and engineering teams to automate manual transaction flows and implement enterprise resource planning (ERP) system enhancements.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally split between a Big 4 public accounting firm and a high-growth corporate environment.
- Active CPA license and a strong, technical foundation in US GAAP and SOX compliance standards.
- Extensive experience working with modern ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Workday, or Oracle) and advanced Excel modeling capabilities.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring direct reports while leading cross-functional process improvement projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Bonus: Experience managing localized tax compliance or international entity consolidation, and familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools (like Tableau or Looker).
