Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for elementary students to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute tailored lesson plans aligned with state standards and individual education plans (IEPs) for students with a range of disabilities, including autism, developmental disabilities, and hearing impairments.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data collection.
- Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs, ensuring accessibility for all students.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support services.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and proactive behavior management strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral interventions, and communication with families.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience working with elementary students in special education settings.
- Valid special education teaching credential.
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring processes.
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and behavioral therapy techniques.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.17 - $56.11 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
