Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist (PSY) to join our educational team in York, PA.
Position: School Psychologist (PSY)
Location: York, PA
Duration: The whole school year
Days per Week: 5
Schedule: 5x7 OR 5x8
Guaranteed Hours: Between 35- 40 hrs/week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological testing and diagnostic evaluations to assess students’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring compliance with special education regulations.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on child & family counseling, social skills development, and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create effective safety plans and behavior intervention strategies.
- Offer crisis intervention services during emergencies or behavioral incidents to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Assist in early intervention programs by evaluating young children’s developmental progress and recommending appropriate services.
- Manage case documentation accurately in medical records, including progress notes, assessment reports, and treatment plans using appropriate medical terminology.
- Train staff on behavior management techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies and social work principles.
- Support students with developmental disabilities and autism through specialized interventions and accommodations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans addressing behavioral health, psychological testing results, and educational goals.
- Conduct intake assessments for new students requiring psychological services or mental health support.
- Develop social-emotional learning programs that promote positive behavior and mental health awareness among students.
- Maintain confidentiality while ensuring compliance with legal standards related to medical documentation and student records.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state certification/license as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential.
- Proven experience working with children in school settings or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and diagnostic evaluation procedures.
