What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Event Assistant position at Everwood Day Camp?
Love big crowds, big energy, and big fun? As a Special Event Assistant, you’ll help lead games and activities for up to 200 campers and turn special events into unforgettable camp highlights. From helping lead Tug of War in 500 pounds of Jell-o to racing across Lake Massapoag in cardboard box boats — you will support and lead large-scale activities, managing energy, organization, and fun for campers ages 4 to 15. You will be supported by a Special Events Director in the planning and execution of activities, running for 8 periods a day! Big groups. Big fun. Big impact. This role runs through our 9 week summer program, from June 22nd to August 21st. Staff training on June 2nd and 7th is also required. Regular Camp hours are 8:30am-4:15pm, Monday to Friday.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
Camp staff who enjoy large-group programming
Students studying education, recreation, leadership, communications, or event planning
Coaches, performers, or group leaders comfortable energizing crowds
Anyone who enjoys creating memorable experiences through games, challenges, and camp-wide traditions
DATES, HOURS, AND PAY
Hours range between 7am to 4pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day)
June 22nd to Aug 21st (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 14th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed.
Monday to Friday each week except for July 3rd when we are closed.
Salary range is $5,590.00 and up for 9 weeks of work.
Free Camper Tuition for up to 2 children of successful applicants (up to a $14,000 value)
Staff Training is Tuesday June 2nd 4:30-9pm and Sunday June 7th 9am-4:30pm. All training will have meals provided.

Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis.
