Position Overview
The Coding Auditor will review medical records, validate coding accuracy, and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines. This individual will also support provider education, identify documentation improvement opportunities, and contribute to overall revenue cycle performance
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit medical records to ensure accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS codes
- Validate documentation supports billed services and identify gaps when present
- Monitor coding quality, compliance, and performance metrics
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external coding resources
- Assist with coding-related denials, appeals, and issue resolution
- Provide education and guidance to providers on documentation and coding best practices
- Support compliance initiatives and participate in internal/external audits
- Collaborate with revenue cycle, billing, and clinical teams
Work Model: Hybrid
Compensation: $32- $50 hourly, depending on experience.
