Development Manager
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Location: Westchester County, NY
Position Overview
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Development Manager to support fundraising operations, donor stewardship, and data management initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining the organization's donor database and fundraising platforms, ensuring data integrity, processing gifts, generating reports, supporting donor engagement efforts, and assisting with fundraising campaigns and special projects. The Development Manager will work closely with executive leadership, finance, development, and program teams to support fundraising goals and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage donor database and fundraising platform integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Process and reconcile donations from individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Generate donor reports, dashboards, prospect research, and fundraising analytics for leadership and board reporting.
- Manage donor acknowledgment processes, gift tracking, and campaign reporting.
- Support donor cultivation efforts through research, presentations, and stewardship activities.
- Create mailing lists, donor segmentation reports, and event-related reports.
- Track fundraising event data and prepare post-event analyses.
- Collaborate with Finance on gift reconciliation, reporting, and annual audit support.
- Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support cross-functional fundraising, communications, marketing, and special project initiatives.
- Manage a portfolio of smaller donor accounts and relationships.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience managing donor databases, CRM systems, or fundraising platforms.
- Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization preferred.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and data management skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with leadership, board members, donors, and community stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Ability to successfully complete a background screening.
Compensation
- Salary range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually
