Evergreen Youth & Family Services is seeking a compassionate, organized individual to support adolescents and young adults as they build skills for successful independence. Evergreen provides relationship-based, trauma-informed services that promote dignity, equity, and long-term well-being for youth and families.
Position Summary
The Life Skills Specialist / YLC Coordinator provides individualized independent living skills (ILS) training and case management to youth ages 14–23 who are currently in, or have previously experienced, out-of-home placements. This role supports youth in developing life skills, accessing resources, and building leadership through coordination of a local Youth Leadership Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one independent living skills training and case management for youth.
- Complete assessments, develop individualized plans, and support youth in achieving education, employment, housing, and life-skill goals.
- Coordinate grant-funded services (HTA and STAY), including documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Develop and facilitate a local Youth Leadership Council, including recruitment, meetings, leadership activities, and statewide participation.
- Connect youth to community resources and collaborate with counties, tribes, schools, foster care agencies, and community partners.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and comply with all state and federal requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 21.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field and/or equivalent experience (minimum three years working with youth or five years in human services).
- At least one year of experience working with youth and families.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team using a trauma-informed approach.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to transport youth using agency vehicles.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and overnight travel.
- Successful completion of required background studies and screenings.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, and use hands for handling and feeling; occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits
