Duties

• Assist with meal preparation, food handling, and serving in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
• Support menu planning efforts by helping to prepare a variety of nutritious and appealing dishes, including special diets when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure a safe food service environment
• Follow proper food safety protocols, including proper knife skills, food storage, and sanitation procedures
• Help with food presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents, including fine dining style service when appropriate
• Contribute to catering events or special meal occasions by assisting with food setup and service
• Support the dietary team in ensuring timely meal delivery and resident satisfaction during mealtimes

Requirements

• Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
• Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service in a restaurant or food industry setting
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling techniques, and sanitation practices
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
• Ability to follow detailed instructions for preparing specialized diets or catering needs
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with residents and team members
• A positive attitude with a passion for providing quality food service in a caring environment

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
