Title: Shipping Manager
Report to: Distribution Center Facility Manager
Position Summery
The Warehouse Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping operations within the warehouse. This role ensures orders are processed, packed, and shipped accurately and on time while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The manager supervises shipping staff, coordinates with logistics providers, and works closely with inventory and operations teams to meet company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily shipping operations within the warehouse.
- Ensure orders are picked up, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and logistics partners for timely deliveries.
- Monitor shipping schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
- Train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse shipping staff.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and warehouse policies.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, documentation, and tracking information.
- Work with inventory and warehouse teams to resolve order discrepancies or delays.
- Optimize shipping processes to improve efficiency, cost control, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, shipping regulations, and quality standards.
- Handle escalated issues related to shipments, damage, or lost packages.
- Prepare reports on shipping performance, KPIs, and operational metrics.
- Ensures timely actions on customer complaints and develops root cause analysis to resolve customer issues.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with management and hourly team members
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- 3–5 years of warehouse or shipping experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
- Experience working with freight carriers and shipping documentation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate walking, standing, and climbing throughout the shift
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of pallets and products
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching (up to 15% of the shift), and reaching
- Ability to lift and handle objects weighing 30 pounds on a frequent basis
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, dust, cold, heat, and loud noise
- Above-average coordination (eye-hand, hand-foot, balance) and physical endurance
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
