Evansville Protestant Home is seeking a dependable and compassionate Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and scheduled activities. This position plays an important role in supporting the independence, comfort, and well-being of our residents while providing exceptional customer service and care.
The ideal candidate is patient, friendly, safety-focused, and enjoys working with seniors in a healthcare and long-term care environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from appointments, activities, and community outings
- Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment properly
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and schedules
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for daily use
- Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and facility policies
- Provide courteous and compassionate service at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Previous driving experience preferred
- Experience working with seniors or in healthcare is a plus
- Ability to assist residents with mobility needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Schedule
- Day shift
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional weekends or special events as needed
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
