Transport Driver

Evansville Protestant Home is seeking a dependable and compassionate Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and scheduled activities. This position plays an important role in supporting the independence, comfort, and well-being of our residents while providing exceptional customer service and care.

The ideal candidate is patient, friendly, safety-focused, and enjoys working with seniors in a healthcare and long-term care environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, activities, and community outings
• Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment properly
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and schedules
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for daily use
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and facility policies
• Provide courteous and compassionate service at all times

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Previous driving experience preferred
• Experience working with seniors or in healthcare is a plus
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Schedule

• Day shift
• Monday–Friday
• Occasional weekends or special events as needed

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
