Summary/Objective:

To that end, we are seeking an experienced Project Safety Manager to work at one of our projects in Charlotte, NC to support Evans’ goals regarding safety and compliance with policies, procedures, and local, state and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and management of Evans’ safety programs across all phases of project execution.
- Conduct comprehensive safety audits of personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and materials, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Partner with Project Executives, Superintendents, and Field Teams to develop site-specific safety strategies and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Mentor and coach field personnel and subcontractors on safe work practices and hazard recognition, promoting a culture of accountability.
- Prepare and manage site-specific Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Perform and oversee investigations of incidents, near misses, and non-conformance issues; ensure all documentation and corrective actions are completed promptly.
- Act as primary safety liaison between Evans, clients, subcontractors, and government agencies.
- Deliver or coordinate safety training programs, orientations, and toolbox talks for project personnel.
- Report safety performance metrics and findings to the Corporate Safety Director and Project Leadership.
- Maintain all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
- Ensure consistent communication and collaboration across multiple trades and project partners to maintain zero-incident goals.
- Support company-wide safety initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement efforts and training development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of safety management experience in commercial or industrial construction, with at least 5 years focused on mission-critical or data center projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification required; CHST, CSP, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and influence project teams while enforcing compliance and accountability.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, risk management practices, and safety documentation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates must reside in or be able to commute to Charlotte, NC.
Working Conditions:
- This position is primarily site-based and may require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Travel to different project sites in other states may be required.
- Physical stamina to walk long distances, climb stairs or ladders, and stand for extended periods.
