Evans Equipment & Environmental is a sales, service, and rental company established in 1987. Our specialty is industrial water treatment systems. As our name implies, we are committed to environmental responsibility, focusing on wastewater recycling equipment that captures, filters, and recycles wash water from pressure washers and steam cleaners. We are a full-service company that designs, constructs, provides equipment, services equipment, and supplies ongoing materials for our systems.
The Fabrication Technician is responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment, organizing work areas, and assisting during welding and fabrication tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, good organization, self-motivation, and the ability to safely assist welders in fabricating equipment in alignment with Evans Equipment & Environmental’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut aluminum and steel sheet, plate, extrusions, and stock to specified dimensions
- Prep material (deburring, cleaning, marking/layout) for fabrication and welding
- Operate press brakes and bending equipment to form parts to blueprint tolerances
- Read and interpret shop drawings and work orders
- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy and quality before handoff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform routine maintenance checks on cutting and bending equipment
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating saws, plasma cutter, and press brakes (preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and basic shop math
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working with both aluminum and steel materials
- Team player with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in shop environment
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and communicate clearly.
- Knowledge of welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metal fabrication tools.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment
Work Environment
- Shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and fabrication machinery.
- Required use of PPE including welding hoods, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toe boots. (Candidate to provide steel-toe boots, helmet, and other welding tools - Company to provide uniforms including pants, shirts, safety glasses, and gloves)
***Pay is based on experience.
