At TEFSCO, we’re looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work.
This isn’t a repetitive production position. While you’ll support the fabrication of our specialized aluminum equipment, you’ll also help maintain the equipment that keeps our shop running, assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, improve shop organization, and tackle the day-to-day challenges that keep production moving.

Position Mission
The Fabrication Shop Operations Technician plays a vital role in keeping TEFSCO operating at its best. This position supports production by preparing materials, assembling mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, maintaining shop equipment, improving shop organization, and identifying opportunities to make our operation safer, cleaner, and more efficient.
Success in this role means helping our fabricators stay productive while ensuring the shop and equipment are always ready for the next job.
Primary Responsibilities
Fabrication Support
- Prepare materials for fabrication
- Cut aluminum and steel using miter and cold saws
- Read tape measures and fabrication drawings accurately
- Perform layout work
- Grind and finish fabricated components
- Prepare parts for welding
- Support fabricators during production
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Mechanical & Hydraulic Assembly
- Assemble mechanical components
- Assemble hydraulic systems
- Assemble pneumatic systems
- Install bearings, gearboxes, shafts, and mechanical drives
- Install hydraulic hoses and fittings
- Test completed assemblies
Equipment & Shop Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment
- Repair air compressors, saws, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment
- Diagnose equipment issues
- Perform routine engine maintenance
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts
- Move materials throughout the shop
- Assist with loading and unloading materials
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- 2–3 years of fabrication, mechanical, or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to read fabrication drawings
- Experience using common fabrication shop equipment
- Experience assembling mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation & Benefits
- $18–$26 per hour, depending on experience
- Health insurance after 60 days
- PTO accrual

Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Stand, bend, and work on your feet throughout the day
