Description
Marra Forni is seeking a Laser Operator for its Beltsville facility which specializes in manufacturing brick ovens. The Laser Operator will cut metal pieces and products by using laser-cutting equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans details of work order procedures, gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Effective communication and math skills.
- Proven track record for attendance, problem-solving skills, and working independently.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents.
- Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools.
- Team player.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Good eyesight and ability to read.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds at a time.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use manual machinery.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
Work hours: 6:30AM - 3:30PM.
Compensation: Based on experience.
