Janitor/Kitchen Aide, Salary Range 105Summary of Job Purpose: Under general supervision, performs a variety of kitchen assistant and janitorial duties in support of the Senior Services program; drives vans to transport program participants and to deliver meals.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists cook with preparation of meals for home delivery in accordance with meal-time schedule and established temperature guidelines; prepares meals and food products according to standard recipes and/or other specifications.Breaks down cases of food in freezer walk-in and pantry; stocks food items to the proper shelf.Inspects food preparation areas and equipment to ensure proper sanitary and safety procedures are met; demonstrates competent product knowledge by correct storing and handling of all perishables, maintaining quality and integrity.Sets up rooms for meals and other uses.Cleans facility on a regular basis; sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors; dusts furniture, doors, windows, sills, ledges, other parts of the building; cleans and disinfects the bathrooms; removes trash; cleans and disinfects kitchen area on a daily basis; cleans walls; cleans carpets.Cleans kitchen, cooking utensils, serving areas, and food containers.Keeps records of supplies and materials used; orders replacement supplies.Keeps records and tracks money of all monetary items, keeps track of daily home bound meals count; assists in preparation and delivery of menus/calendars to seniors.Monitors condition of vehicles and performs routine maintenance, including fueling and checking fluid levels on vehicles; keeps records of vehicle use and conditions; reports maintenance and safety items needed to Site Supervisor; washes vehicle.Transports senior program participants from their homes to meal sites and social program sites and to conduct personal business, delivers meals to homebound program participants, assists participants into and out of the vehicles, including mobility impaired individuals; loads and unloads groceries and other items belonging to participants.Operates cleaning and cooking equipment; participates in the cleaning of the kitchen areas and equipment; ensures proper storage of tools and equipment and the security of the store room.Ensures proper storage of tools and equipment; performs complete inventories of food and supplies; stocks supply as required; orders supply as approved by supervisor.
