What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at Eureka Casino Resort?
Reports directly to the Security Supervisor. The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and company assets inside the facility as well as the facility grounds. Employee is required to maintain a current Nevada Gaming Card, T.A.M. Card, Nevada Driver’s License, CPR, First Aid, AED and Blood-Borne Pathogens certifications.
This posting is for Full Time - Graveyard Shift
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
· High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a casino security guard or security guard related field preferred. Experience in law enforcement or the armed forces is favorable.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
· Strong observation skills; ability to complete tasks while maintaining attentive monitoring of the surroundings at all times
· Must possess the proven ability to quickly assess, gain control of, and defuse, incidents/encounters with difficult guests or employees
· Ability to perceive, identify and monitor potential conflicts developing amongst guests and/or employees and intercede before a situation escalates
· Working knowledge and complete comprehension of security officer practices and procedures
· Working knowledge of the Nevada Revised Statutes and laws governing Citizens Arrest
· Detailed knowledge of the operation of security equipment
AGE AND GAMING :
· 21 years of age or above
· Nevada Gaming Registration
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language required. The ability to read and understand documents and diagrams in written English form is required. Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints and emergencies. The ability to speak bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
General math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to apply commonsense judgment at all times through the course of completing your duties and tasks as assigned and when dealing with hostile, intoxicated or angry guests or employees.
