Contributing Writer (New York)
Eurasia Group seeks a motivated and experienced journalist to support the expansion of its newsletter Signal. This role will involve working with the editor and deputy editor of Signal to plan and develop weekly written content focused on international politics. The contributing writer will be expected to provide research assistance and produce original features that will appear in each week’s newsletter. The ideal candidate should have a strong grounding in international relations and substantial experience as a professional journalist (3-5 years). This position presents the opportunity to contribute to an exciting, fast-growing media venture centered around the analysis and explanation of international politics.
Responsibilities:
Conducting independent research into ongoing international storiesProviding editorial support to the editor and deputy editor
Developing new features that will appear on a regular basis
Thinking creatively about the generation of new, original content
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of professional journalistic experience covering international newsStrong academic grounding in international politics and experience as an editor required
Regional expertise and foreign language proficiency preferred
Ability to communicate on camera a plus
