Associate, Communications (Office of the President) (NY)

We’re looking for a talented communications associate to join the Office of the President. We are a close-knit team looking for a creative and collaborative colleague who shares our passion for politics.
Your primary responsibility is managing the Eurasia Group website and running Eurasia Group’s social media channels. You will edit the site drawing from content we have published externally as well as content we create specifically for our website. You will be instrumental in driving new content creation, working with the Eurasia Live team and analysts from the research department. You’re flexible and enthusiastic about working with different content formats – you may conduct interviews, draft commentary, conceive/shoot/edit short video interviews, work with analysts to edit short-form articles, and project-manage occasional larger-scale thought leadership features.
Overall, you will manage the daily content schedule for the website, particularly Eurasia Live, upload all content, and ensure that all sections of the website are up to date and accurate. You have an editorial eye for photo selection, writing headlines, and article placement. You are fluent in social media, can engage responsibly on our behalf, and proactively develop new ways of engaging with audiences.You understand website metrics and will develop data-informed strategies for the website and audience engagement.
Beyond your digital responsibilities, you will also support the deputy director of communications with Eurasia Group’s proactive and responsive media relations – including pitching analysts, placing stories, booking interviews, writing press announcements.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience
- BA/BS in journalism, marketing, international affairs or other relevant
field
- Experience developing digital content and growing a social audience,
including an understanding of best practices around publishing for the web and
social promotion
- Basic SEO understanding, content development, distribution and
measurement
- Data driven: experience using analytics and applying findings from them
to content decisions
- Exceptional organizational skills, a strong sense of attention to
detail, and ability to multi-task
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter
- Agency experience, as well as familiarity with Vocus and Salesforce a plus
