Asset Management, Strategic Account Manager (New York)
Eurasia Group is an independent, global, research and consulting firm specializing in political risk analysis. We are seeking an experienced and motivated senior institutional research sales professional, based in our NY office, to serve, retain, and expand our NY, CT, and Boston area institutional clientele. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships at a portfolio of approximately 30 of the world’s leading Tier 1 asset management accounts in the NY, CT, and Boston area. These include diversified asset managers, multi-strategy firms, global macro hedge funds, emerging markets investors, commodity traders, mutual fund complexes, and traditional asset managers including vote accounts. You will have a proven track record of retaining and growing institutional relationships on a dollar, product, and user count basis over 8-10 years or more. You will create detailed and effective strategic account plans, build and maintain an in-depth 360-degree knowledge of clients at both a key person and firm level, generate significant client interaction between the client and the research team / product, and systematically grow the user base at each client firm through networking and cultivation of deep relationships at the client firm. Successful execution of your account strategy will result in near 100% retention of a portfolio of prestigious accounts, annual revenue growth from each account, and successful cross-sale of additional political risk analytics to these clients.
You will work well both independently and as part of a team. You will regularly coordinate and liaise with other Business Development team members, Country Risk Analysts, and other firm units. You will have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills, a current understanding of global securities markets and an ability to monetize a differentiated research & advisory offering across wide range of investors type. Background in FX, G10, EM/Frontier markets are relevant. The position will report to Eurasia Group sales leadership. Significant travel to Boston and within the greater NYC area is required.
The position is not a research/analytical/policy or content role, and sales to new firms outside the account portfolio are not expected.
You will have at a minimum an undergraduate degree; an MA or an MBA is preferred. Relevant work experience on the sell-side, or experience successfully selling to the buy-side, is required. Applicants are required to have a demonstrable interest in Eurasia Group’s core political risk assessment competency. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
