Access Control Officer

Ethic Tech, LLC is seeking a part-time Access Control Officer (ACO) to provide access control support to a secured facility in Huntsville, AL. The ACO will be responsible for protecting property and information and enforcing all security directives and regulations. All facilities operate 24 hours a day and remain open even during inclement weather.

Essential Functions

• Monitor and control access of employees and visitors in and out of restricted areas.
• Ensure that prohibited and restricted items are not brought into or taken out of the building.
• Assist employees and visitors with directions to various locations and provide other customer service functions.
• Observe and report activities and incidents.
• Safeguard customers’ property and personnel.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents occurring at the assigned facility and secure the area until relieved or as directed by your shift supervisor.
• Provide outstanding customer service and support, projecting professionalism and communication skills at all times.
• Perform walking facility security checks within and outside the assigned facility.
• Assist with Emergency Management operations, including building evacuations when necessary.
• Professional discretion and conduct are imperative.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in access control in a secured facility is required.
• An Active Secret Security Clearance is required. Must be able to maintain the required clearance level for the duration of the contract.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and a drug screening.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must be able to write clear, concise incident reports.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Efficient computer, administration, and phone skills are required.
• Ability to maintain telephone rapport with customers at all levels.
• Ability to assist customers on a wide range of topics, including company and departmental policies and procedures, office procedures, clearance issues, and other items as required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in a security services occupation (armed/unarmed guard, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Former military or law enforcement personnel are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands

You must be able to stand for extended periods. While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl. May have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
