Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase building materials, construction products, tools, and related supplies
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts
- Manage special-order requests from quote through delivery
- Coordinate freight arrangements, including LTL, flatbed, and specialty transportation
- Partner with inventory and operations teams to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Research and evaluate new products, suppliers, and sourcing opportunities
- Create and manage purchase orders within an ERP system
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve shipment, pricing, quality, and delivery issues
- Work closely with Sales, Showroom, Inventory, and Accounting teams to support customer needs
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and procurement process improvements
- 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience
- Experience in building materials, masonry supplies, hardscape products, construction materials, contractor supply, or related industries strongly preferred
- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills
- Experience using ERP systems such as Acumatica or similar platforms
- Knowledge of freight coordination, logistics, and inventory management
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered
