Job Title: Pattern Engineer 3
Location: Beaverton, OR
Duration: 08 months contract
Pay Range: $(48.00 – 52.50)/hr on W2 all-inclusive without benefits

Job Description:

· On-site role at WHQ; typical work hours, WFH Fridays (some Fridays may be required to go in office)

· Maternity leave coverage; extension possible, not guaranteed

· Degree preferred, not a hard requirement

· Digital creation knowledge (CLO 3D) preferred

· 5-8 years’ experience in a technical designer/pattern engineer role

Top must-have skills include the following:

· Fit and pattern knowledge (candidate can manipulate a pattern, manage fit sessions, and communicate changes effectively with factory partners)

· Understanding of graphics

· Basic knowledge of PLM systems (team uses PCX)

Desired soft skills:

· Self leader

· Strong collaboration skills

· Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally

· Prior client experience (or experience with a similar brand) highly preferred

· ETW will be helping design lifestyle sportswear; focus on ,’s, but could extend into menswear

· Will work on a direct team of ~11; will work cross functionally with ~15 or so teams, including design, sourcing, product management, product creation, etc.

· Likely 2 rounds of interviews

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

· The ETW Technical Designer owns the fit and construction from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles to lead to on time development and delivery according to critical dates, product specification, and sustainability, performance and profitability goals.

· The ETW Technical Designer will create and revise Tech Packs for complex assigned styles and ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes. In addition, the ETW Technical Designer will drive and execute fit and construction standards for a team or product group to ensure consistency. You will track and facilitate prototyping for styles; identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested product. You will monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.

· The ETW Technical Designer keeps abreast of market trends, team goals, new technologies and consumer needs throughout the development process and engages appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

· In this role you will be responsible for the Technical Design of assigned styles product in Sportswear (NSW).

· Working with Design, Product Management and Product Creation Center (Asia) on tailoring the product to the specific consumer needs.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

· You will report to the Technical Design Director.

· The Technical Designer will collaborate with Design, Product Management, PCC , materials and manufacturing to effectively execute on product development & fit goals deliverables.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

· Bachelor's degree in apparel design, textile science or related field.

· Additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

· 5 years technical design experience in the apparel industry (IDEALLY 7 ) which includes the apparel development process from inception through production including pattern making, grading, construction materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.

· Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills.

· Experience interpreting design intent, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical resource.

· Expert in writing product specs and construction standards instructions.

· Proficient working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.

· Ability to manage multiple projects.

· Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired.

· Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
