What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litifgation Legal Assistant (K) position at Estrin Legal?
Litigation Legal Assistant
Hybrid
Our client, a respected South Bay medical malpractice insurance defense firm in El Segundo, is looking for a Senior Litigation Legal Assistant who knows how to run a busy desk like a command center—and actually enjoys it.
You’ll partner with a high-volume, high-performing Partner and work closely with Associates and Paralegals on complex cases from start to finish. If you thrive in organized chaos, can juggle deadlines without breaking a sweat, and know that great litigation support is both an art and a science, this is your lane.
What makes this opportunity stand out
- Hybrid flexibility (because it’s 2026, not 1996)
- Sophisticated medical malpractice defense work
- A collaborative, professional environment where people actually like working together
What you’ll be doing (and doing well)
- Owning a demanding calendar with absolute precision
- Scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations, and everything in between
- Filing in California state and federal courts
- Preparing discovery, motion shells, and supporting filings
- Coordinating experts and prepping for trial, mediation, and arbitration
What you bring to the table
- 3 years of insurance defense litigation experience (this is key)
- The ability to anticipate what attorneys need before they ask
- Experience with ProLaw or similar systems is a plus
- BA preferred
The details
- Full-time, 37.5-hour workweek
- Comprehensive benefits package
The bottom line
This is one of those roles where everything just clicks—the work, the team, the environment. The kind of place where people quietly stay for years because they’re treated well and challenged in the right ways.
And in this market? Those don’t sit open for long.
If this sounds like your kind of desk, it’s worth a conversation.
