Work Schedule
Monday - Friday (or Monday - Thursday during the summer) between the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, some weekend hours are required.

Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring for a part-time/student worker position to work in the Financial Aid Department. This position provides Financial Aid assistance to students while working in a highly regulated Financial Aid Department.

Essential Functions
60% - Assists current and prospective Financial Aid students via walk-in, email, chat, incoming/outgoing calls, etc. including complex Federal requirements
30% - Run and process reports
10% - Verify completeness of information, maintain files; other duties as assigned commensurate to level of position
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an in-person team environment with diverse populations
- Experience communicating effectively in person and in writing
- Experience interpreting and/or communicating regulations, policies, or established guidelines
- Experience working with Microsoft and Google applications, PeopleSoft, or similar applications
- Experience working with, or applying, Student Financial Aid policies, practices and/or procedures
- Experience providing front-line customer service
- Demonstrated ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
Special Working Conditions
This position works 100% in person in the Financial Aid Department at Estrella Mountain Community College main campus.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the EMCC Financial Aid Office for more information.
FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.
