INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN – LOW VOLTAGE TRANSIT Hiring Immediately | 3-Night Project | $30–$32/hr Work Dates: March 13–15 We are seeking one experienced Installation Technician for an immediate, short-term transit project. Work involves removing and replacing fareboxes and Co-pilot systems across 20 buses. This is a pilot project — if successful, a full citywide rollout across the entire Detroit bus fleet will follow in approximately one month, with additional hiring at that time.Project Overview Work includes removal and replacement of electronic components and cabling, installing new hardware, and terminating low voltage electrical wiring to 12V and 24V vehicle power sources.Job DutiesRemove existing fareboxes and electronic componentsInstall new fareboxes, Co-pilot units, and associated componentsRun and route new cables and wiringTerminate connectors and wire to power sources (breakers, terminal blocks, grounding lugs)Secure wiring upon completionVerify systems power up correctlyAssist with troubleshooting as neededMaintain clean work areas throughoutRequired Skills & ExperienceBackground in low voltage electrical work (preferred)Experience with electronic components and electromechanical systemsProficiency with electrical connectors and terminationsExperience with hand and power toolsTrades, construction, or electronics background a plusAble to work standing, bending, or crouching for extended periodsMust commit to all 3 nights of the projectMust be punctual and reliableRequired Tools (Must supply your own)Drill with 2 batteries and chargerFlush cutters, wire strippers, crimperPhillips and flathead screwdrivers (or multi-screwdriver)Precision screwdriver setStandard socket and wrench sets (up to 9/16")Standard Allen wrench setUtility knife, headlamp, tool bagRequired PPESafety glasses, work gloves, composite toe work bootsCompany DescriptionESP Enterprises, Inc. has over 20 years of concentrated experience in the installation, system upgrade, maintenance, and staffing for public transit projects.
