About the Role:
Job Title: Warehouseman I
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, receives inbound material from outside suppliers and field locations. Stocks received material, picks materials, components and end products and delivers to customers. Performs cycle counts. Fills orders and supplies subcontract parts. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or educational equivalent
Entry level position
Essential Functions
Loads and unloads trucks
Accurately counts materials coming in and going out of warehouse
Performs preventative maintenance on forklift and/or additional equipment at warehouse
Cleans and maintains warehouse
Responsible for quality control of products/materials
Packages finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling, etc.)
Stages finished product for loading
Participates in emergency response drills
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Stay current in all position training programs
Follow Newpark and OSHA rules and policies
Effectively interact with all levels within the organization as well as vendors, customers, and industry professions in a professional and dignified manner
Able to be on call for 24 hours/day
Able to work 10–12 hour shifts
Effectively perform maintenance on all equipment, perform routine and/or non-routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Non-Essential Job Functions
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
Possess basic written communication skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic math
Basic PC skills
The work environment can be very fast paced and noisy. It is one of constant movement while performing the duties of this job.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
The employee must be able to operate a forklift while loading or unloading freight
